Birchwood Daycare - OUR PHILOSOPHY
We believe that play is a valuable form of learning. It allows children to learn from doing and by using all of their senses. Therefore, we have designed our program to provide a safe and secure environment where children can explore, discover and learn through play.
We also believe that children who learn, through play, develop positive self-esteem, independence, take risks, and are good problem solvers.
We help the children to learn how to play without hurting or interfering with others. However, a teacher is always close at hand to give guidance, set fair limits, comfort, and assist.
We believe a routine is important so that a child can feel secure in knowing what to expect and when to expect it.
Our program is planned to enhance the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of a child, and thus prepare him/her for the opportunities and the challenges he or she will experience in school.
